Effort Or Surrender

THE SPACE BETWEEN

Happy Tuesday Friend,

Hope today’s message of inspiration finds you well and ready to take another soft dive towards growth.

I've been thinking about the paradox we all live with: when to push harder and when to let go. It's something I wrestle with constantly. Last week, I found myself exhausted after forcing a project that clearly wasn't ready to take shape. You probably know that feeling—the frustration of trying to solve a problem through sheer will, only to find the solution arrives effortlessly after you've stepped away.

There's wisdom in recognizing the difference between productive struggle and fruitless forcing. The former builds strength and creates meaningful progress. The latter depletes us and often leads nowhere worth going. But here's what I've realized: the most interesting growth happens in the space between effort and surrender—where we bring our full intention and energy to something while simultaneously releasing our grip on how it must unfold.

I noticed this in my own creative process recently. After struggling with writer's block for days, I finally put my laptop away and went for a long walk without any agenda. By the time I got home, ideas were flowing again. It wasn't that I stopped caring about the work—I just stopped strangling it with my expectations. The mental breathing room allowed something authentic to emerge.

Maybe the art of living well isn't about finding perfect balance but about developing a relationship with this tension. Sometimes life calls for relentless effort—pushing through resistance, staying committed when things get hard. Other times, wisdom lies in letting go, making space for what wants to emerge naturally. The magic happens when we learn to recognize which approach serves us in any given moment.

This week, I invite you to notice: Where might you be forcing what needs to be released? Where might you be passively waiting when effort is required? The answers, I suspect, will reveal exactly what you need to grow.

Food For Thought

DON’T CHANGE

Everywhere I turn these days I’m confronted with this idea of authenticity. Is it just me or is it coming up a lot for you as well?

It seems awakening the most authentic part of ourselves is a longing that perhaps resides deep within each and every one of us.
